Chinese Academy of Sciences Physical Institute of carbon nanotubes composite film / silicon heterojunction solar cell research has been progress

At present, the traditional silicon-based solar cells still occupy the mainstream PV market. However, the main factor that limits the development of the silicon-based photovoltaic industry is the high production cost and the complicated preparation process. Therefore, the development of high efficiency, low cost, large area and suitable for large-scale production of solar cells is imminent. Macro-carbon nanotube film has good mechanical, electrical, optical and other properties, but also flexible. By adjusting the growth parameters, a carbon nanotube film with high transmittance (up to 95%) and high conductivity (105 S m-1) can be obtained. Carbon nanotubes and silicon can be formed at room temperature pn junction, without the traditional silicon-based solar cells in the high-temperature doping, the new low-cost solar cell easy to large-scale production, has a very broad application prospects. Organic conductive polymers can form heterojunction with silicon under mild conditions by a solution process, again avoiding the high temperature processes required to make pn junctions in silicon-based solar cells.

CAS Institute of Physics / Beijing Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory (chips) Advanced Materials and Structure Analysis Laboratory "Nanomaterials and mesoscopic physics" research group, for many years has been committed to the preparation of carbon nanostructures, physical properties and application of basic research . Recently, the doctoral students Fan Qingxia, Zhang Qiang and Zhou Wenbin, under the guidance of Xie Weashen, a researcher at CAS, and Zhou Weiya, a researcher, designed and prepared a new type of continuous network composite based on the continuous and direct growth of transparent conductive carbon nanotube network (ZL.5) Thin film

They analyzed the Energy (2017, 33, 436-444) separately prepared from the same material under the same process conditions.
