China's First New Technology Path for Extracting Graphene from Biomass

Conventional graphene material production mainly in three ways, one is to peel graphite, the second is the natural gas, methane and other chemical vapor deposition, the third is the graphite oxide reduction method. The above method has the problems of long production cycle, serious environmental pollution and limited production capacity. Fu Honggang, led by Professor Heilongjiang University inorganic functional chemical laboratory is a key laboratory of Ministry of Education, their unique ways to use corn cob cellulose for chemical reorganization, thus the synthesis of biomass graphene materials. The team achieved the macro-preparation of biomass graphene materials through the "Group Coordination Assembly Analysis of Carbon", and also the preparation of graphene using corn stalks.

In 2014, the world's first macro production line for producing 20 tons of biomass graphene was set up and expanded to an annual output of 100 tons in 2016. In China, the annual output of corncobs in biomass is as high as 100 million tons. Most of them are concentrated in the three northeastern provinces, Shandong Province and Hebei Province.
