Apple gets FCC approval to begin testing 5G technology

July 28, according to foreign media reports, the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially approved the Apple company began testing the experimental 5G technology.

The iPhone maker is now licensed to start using the so-called "short-range millimeter-wave spectrum" at two locations in California. This technology can be used for the next generation of broadband, which is 5G.

In May of this year, Apple applied for a license. Except for one goal, the company did not have much detail about its plans and objectives, and the test targets were 28 GHz and 39 GHz.

The company hopes the result "will provide engineering data related to device operations on wireless operators' future 5G networks."

In other words, Apple is most likely to test 5G, so when the 5G is finally open to the public, it has the advantage of making the future of iPhones ultra-fast and efficient.

The millimeter wave test will be conducted in two different locations in Silicon Valley, one in Milpitas and the other in Cupertino headquarters. According to the company's initial application, the test will last for no more than a year.

Apple is far ahead of this trend, especially in the 5G standard has not been determined.

In fact, most experts do not expect the common use of 5G technology by 2020.
