American duck feeding technology

American wild ducks are bred from North American wild ducks. The breeding method is simple, the same as that of domestic ducks, the feed is the same as that of domestic ducks, and the egg production rate is high. On average, each duck produces more than 120 eggs per year. American mallard meat is very delicate and delicious, without the kind of smell of domestic ducks, and the market price is higher than that of domestic ducks.

American wild ducks can adapt to a more extensive feeding environment, with higher survival rate, faster growth, and less consumption of material. Usually 4 weeks old live weight up to 445 grams, consumption of 1080 grams; 9 weeks old live weight up to 1167 grams, consumption of 3720 grams. Generally 70 days old can be listed - when the best economic benefits. Feeding till the 90th day of listing is slightly less economical, but the plumage of the duck is plump, and consumers prefer it.

General captive duck houses can be used to raise wild ducks in the United States. However, only duck nets, duck puddles, and ponds should be covered with nets. The net height is 2 meters and they are supported by brick columns, concrete poles or iron frames. Each duck house is also separated by a net to facilitate management. Clean running water is the ideal source of feeding ducks for drinking and bathing.

Ducklings also have the habit of stacking ducks, so ducks should be opened once every 1 hour to prevent ducklings from dying. After 1 week of age, the number of ducks in small groups can gradually increase, and as the age increases, they gradually feed in groups. Brooding temperature is shown in the table below:

Age 1 to 3 4 to 6 7 to 10 11 to 20

Temperature (°C) 29 to 27 26 to 25 24 to 22 21 to 17

Within 24 hours after hatching, ducklings should be given water to feed ducks and feed broken rice. The use of multi-vitamins, electrolytes, and powders added to drinking water, or adding water to mix in broken rice, can rapidly improve the dehydration caused by long-distance transportation. Ducklings can add 5% glucose to drinking water when their appetite is poor.

After 3 days of age, the ducklings can be fed with commercially available chicken or duckling pellets for full feeding. Afterwards, use different nutritional levels of feed according to age. The nutritional needs of wild ducks are shown in the table below:

Crude Protein (%) Metabolic Energy (MJ/kg) Calcium (%) Phosphorus (%)

0 to 30 19 12.13 0.6 to 0.8 0.4 to 0.6

31-70 16 12.13 0.6-0.8 0.4-0.6

71-130 13 11.71 0.6-0.8 0.4-0.6

Wild ducks 18 11.3 2.7 to 3 0.6 to 0.8

When the temperature reaches 20°C or more, one-week-old mallards can be bathed. If the temperature is lower than 20 °C, the age of the ducklings should be postponed. After the ducklings are put into the bath, they should allow them to dry the feathers on the duck platter and then enter the duck house. The grass in the duck house should be changed frequently and kept clean and dry.

Wild ducks begin to grow wings when they are 50 days old and then learn to fly. At this point, we must pay attention to checking whether the fence is firm and prevent the ducks from fleeing.

If you need to keep your own ducks, you can choose to stay by the male and female ducks 1:6. The duck feed consumed about 105 grams a day and was opened at about 170 days of age. After production, feed the duck and duck and let them freely in and out of the pond, duck plat and duck house. The wall of the duck house is covered with some clean grass and used as duck egg production area.

American ducklings hatch, immunization procedures, common diseases and their methods of treatment are the same as those of domestic ducks.
