Hermès and Tiffany announced major changes in personnel on the same day

On July 21, 2014, Christophe Lemaire, creative director of women's wear at Hermès, announced that he would step down and concentrate on developing his own brand of the same name. Will be released in October this year, spring and summer clothing line 2015 will be his curtain call for work.

Lemaire joined Hermès in 2010, having previously worked for the French fashion house Lacoste for many years.

Prior to him, design masters Jean Paul Gaultier (leaving office in 2010) and Martin Margiela (outgoing in 2003) served as creative directors for Hermès ladies. The two are currently focused on their own brand of the same name.

Hermès did not announce successor to Lemaire, but industry insiders say the fashion designer's replacement will not materially affect Hermès, which is known for its classic leather goods and has a strong brand tradition.

Also on July 21, Tiffany & Co, the largest jeweler in the United States, announced that 15-year-old CEO Michael Kowalski (pictured above) will retire in 2015 and his position will change from April 1 next year to the current president Frederic Cumenal takes over.

Kowalski is 62 years old and joined Tiffany in 1983, CEO in 1999 and chairman of the board of directors since 2003.

Cumenal (pictured below), 54, just joined Tiffany four years ago as executive vice president for Europe, Japan and emerging markets. Last September was promoted to president of the company, and get the board seats. Previously, he spent 15 years at LVMH, the number one luxury group in the world, as CEO of Moët et Chandon, Moët et Chandon, and for the Louis Vuitton brand for many years.

Yesterday, Tiffany shares closed at $ 98.92 and when Kowalski took office 15 years ago, the share price was $ 15. During Kowalski's administration, the vigorous development of emerging markets in Asia such as Japan and China helped Tiffany to withstand the downturn in the U.S. domestic market in the past two years.

In the past two years, Tiffany has been adjusting product composition, balance the traditional low-cost silver jewelry and diamonds ratio.

Last September, Francesca Amfitheatrof, who had worked for European luxury brands such as Chanel, Fendi and Marni, was hired as design director for her first series to be unveiled at the Tiffany store in September of this year.
